What is Judo?

Judo is a modern Japanese martial art and Olympic sport focused on balance, timing, and using technique rather than strength to throw an opponent. It is designed to be safe, inclusive, and suitable for beginners of all ages and fitness levels.

At Flinders, training emphasises breakfalls (ukemi), control, and mutual respect — helping members build confidence, fitness, and practical self-defence skills.
